Many of our schools have been holding fundraisers to help support Ukraine. The most recent being at Moraine Elementary where the 4th graders held a two-day bake sale. There was a wide variety of homemade baked goods available. Before the bake sale started, the 4th graders had a goal of raising $1,000.

"So we have 8 habits and the 8th one is to Inspire Others and with the war going on in Ukraine I thought it would be a great idea to do a bake sale," said Sam Eichenberg, 4th grader at Moraine Elementary. "And inspire others to raise money too for other charities," added Emma Vethacke, 4th grader at Moraine.
Once you purchased your baked goods, the kids running the bake sale offered a paper sunflower for the customer to write their name on. "After the whole bake sale is over, we'll put sticks on them and we'll stick them in front of the school and it will be a mini sunflower garden," explained Vethacke.
In the end, the 4th graders raised nearly $4,000 to donate to Ukraine. Way to go Penguins! -

3:56 Two NPS Teams Selected As Top Finalists in World Competition Featured
Two teams from Northville Public Schools are finalists in the international Airport Design Challenge, sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. Team Aireos is made up of 5 NHS students and Team Aero is made up of 5 NPS elementary students.
Uploaded Feb 22, 2022
The goal for the project is to create a virtual airport using Minecraft. Team Aireos got a behind the scenes tour of DTW Airport to help with their research for this year's competition. The team took notes so they could create a 1:1 scaling of the airport, and then added some of their own innovations.
"We had the sandipods which was another project, it was another STEM project where we had to create an innovation just solely to help a modern problem. We chose to do the sandipods, which stands for Sanitization Pod, meaning that we could put this at a major area and have people walk through it, get sanitized, tested for covid," said Chet Sands, member of Team Aireos.
And one of the team member's little brothers was so inspired, he started his own team; Team Aero.
"It was all a team effort, honestly, I'm really proud of my team and what we've done, all the support and guidance we've had along the way, it was absolutely key to making this happen," said Arjun Saini, student leader of Team Aireos.
On February 17, 2022, Team Aireos received 1st place in the world for their age group and Team Aero received 3rd place for their age group.
