11/30/20 to 1/11/21 COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan Adjustments

The Northville Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved several short-term adjustments to the District’s current COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan from November 30, 2020 through January 11, 2021, including a shift to full Virtual learning for all students from Monday, November 30, 2020, through Tuesday, December 8, 2020, along with several adjustments based on grade level/program and an anticipated week of full Virtual learning the week following the December winter recess, from January 4, 2021, through January 11, 2021.

11/30/20 to 1/11/21 COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan Adjustments

11-23-20 Virtual Special Call Meeting of the Board of Education

Northville Public Schools Board of Education By-Laws requiring Board Members to be physically present to vote are suspended, and will continue to conduct electronic Board of Education meetings in a manner that provides for maximum public participation consistent with the Open Meetings Act, in a manner consistent with Public Health Recommendations during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and Board of Education ByLaws, Article VI - Amendment/Suspension of Bylaws. As a result, the Northville Board of Education will meet electronically for the Board of Education Meeting on Monday, November 23, 2020.

MDHHS 11/15/20 Emergency Order

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued an updated Gatherings and Face Masks Emergency Order that takes effect on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, through December 8, 2020.  The impact of this order on schools includes the requirement to move Northville High School into full virtual instruction beginning on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

11/3/20 OFFICIAL Election Results: Northville Public Schools (updated 11/23/20)

Pending State certification of the election results and a tie-breaking process overseen by the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, incumbent Sarah Prescott has been elected to a second four-year term on the Board of Education, with Board of Education candidates Lisa McIntyre, Lindsey Wilson, and either James Mazurek OR Kimberly Campbell-Voytal have been elected to four year terms beginning January 1, 2021 and through December 31, 2024. Candidates James Mazurek and Kimberly Campbell-Voytal have TIED for the fourth open seat on the Board of Education following the Wayne County Board of Canvassers certification of the election. A random draw, overseen by the County Board of Canvassers is anticipated after the election is certified by the State Board of Canvassers. The Wayne County Enhancement Millage renewal also received the support of voters with approximately 68% of voters in favor of the millage county-wide, and 32% opposed.
