NHS Aerospace Club Featured on Fox 2 Detroit Ahead of NASA Student Launch Challenge

We’re thrilled to share that Fox 2 Detroit recently visited Northville High School to feature our talented Aerospace Club ahead of their upcoming trip to Huntsville, Alabama for the NASA Student Launch Challenge! The segment highlights the incredible work our students have done over the past several months—designing, building, and testing a high-powered rocket capable of carrying a scientific payload over 3,000 feet into the sky.

The NASA Student Launch Challenge is a prestigious, nine-month-long national competition that tasks middle school, high school, and college students from across the country with tackling real-world aerospace engineering problems. Northville is the only school in Michigan selected to compete this year, joining over 70 teams from across the U.S. at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center for the final launch on Saturday, May 3rd. -

Special Olympics Host Leadership Launch Event at Northville High School

Recently, Special Olympics of Michigan hosted a Leadership Launch event at Northville High School. About 15 Unified Champion Schools from SE Michigan were invited to attend at NHS. Each school brought a handful of students with and without intellectual disabilities to participate in breakout sessions to identify their own leadership skills and core values.

CFCU Celebrates President's Day Essay Winners with Pizza Party

The Community Financial Credit Union held it's annual President's Day Essay contest and received a record number of participants. This year's prompt was to explain which U.S. President should be on our currency that isn't already. The contest was open to 4th and 5th graders from the 50 schools CFCU partners with. Both winners were from Northville Public Schools! The 4th grade winner is Seerith Dhaliwal from Moraine Elementary and the 5th grade winner is Benicio Volpe from Winchester Elementary School. Both winners got to celebrate with a class pizza party!

Mrs. Moore’s 5th Grade Class Takes on the LemonAid Challenge for a Winchester Student Fighting Cancer

Mrs. Moore’s 5th grade class at Winchester Elementary School joined the LemonAid Challenge to show their support for Winchester student, Emilia, who is bravely fighting neuroblastoma.
