  On Wednesday, April 12th, students at Northville High School were taking the PSAT and SAT, except for the seniors. For Senior Experience Day, the students had the option to tour Schoolcraft College, volunteer at our elementary schools, create their own service project, or set up their own college tour.

  For this Classroom Close-Up we were invited to Amerman Elementary to check out Kim Chenoweth's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) class as the kids wrapped up their coding projects. The students learned how to code a game and then created custom cardboard controllers using Makey Makeys.

Mr. Lanzi orchestrated an immersive in-school symphonic concert band camp to fine-tune the students' skills in preparation for their upcoming festival. Guiding them through this musical journey was none other than professional clinician, Michael Kaufman, whose expertise was generously made accessible thanks to a grant from the Northville Educational Foundation.

  For this Classroom Close-Up we were invited to two science classes at Hillside Middle School where they were both working on a smell lab. The lesson helped the 6th graders better learn why different odors smell differently. This lesson also helped them understand chemical formulas as they study matter.
