  For this Classroom Close-Up we were invited to two science classes at Hillside Middle School where they were both working on a smell lab. The lesson helped the 6th graders better learn why different odors smell differently. This lesson also helped them understand chemical formulas as they study matter.

A couple weeks ago they were given a jar of caterpillars for them to take care of while they learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. Now it's time to release them into Northville!

For an intro activity, the students were trying to guess if the basketball was going to make it in the hoop based on the parabola.
