They start each morning with Message Board which is part of High Scope and promotes early learning and tells the students about the daily schedule.

In their Courage Unit, students are learning about ways to impact their community. They are selling candy canes for their service to action project. With the money, the students plan to buy presents for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

  Recently, Amerman Elementary School hosted a STEAM Career Day. The elementary STEAM teacher, Kim Chenoweth, came up with the idea and invited parents of Amerman Elementary to sign up to present if they had a STEAM-related job. Ms. Chenoweth said there was an overwhelming number of willing presenters. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math.
