Sinking Fund Renewal Update: Absentee Voting Open, Community Info Sessions Coming Up

Northville Public Schools continues to provide information to the community ahead of the upcoming Sinking Fund Renewal proposal on the August 5, 2025 ballot. This renewal would continue to fund essential school building repairs, safety upgrades, and instructional technology—with no increase to the current tax rate.

To help ensure voters feel informed, the district is offering multiple ways to learn more, including in-person information sessions, online resources, and a short video series featuring Superintendent Dr. RJ Webber.

Absentee Voting Now Available

Absentee ballots are now available for all registered voters. Those wishing to vote absentee can request and submit their ballots by contacting their local clerk’s office or visiting Michigan.gov/Vote for more information. All polling locations will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, August 5, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Temporary Polling Location Changes

Due to construction projects at two school sites, some polling locations will be temporarily relocated for Election Day only:

  • Precincts 3 & 4 (normally at Northville High School) → will vote at Ridge Wood Elementary
  • Precinct 12 (normally at Meads Mill Middle School) → will vote at Silver Springs Elementary

Voters should confirm their polling place ahead of time to avoid confusion on Election Day.

Community Information Sessions

Northville Public Schools will host two upcoming Community Information Sessions to provide a closer look at the renewal proposal and answer questions from community members. Both sessions will take place at Old Village School (405 W. Main Street, Northville):

  • Tuesday, July 8 at 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday, July 16 at 10:00 AM

All residents are encouraged to attend, whether they have questions about the proposal or simply want to learn more about how the district maintains its school buildings and infrastructure.

New Video Explains Renewal Goals

As part of its ongoing video series, the district has released Video 2: “Renewal Goals for Northville’s Sinking Fund Proposal,” featuring Superintendent Dr. RJ Webber. In the video, Dr. Webber outlines how the renewal supports safe, well-maintained learning environments, energy efficiency upgrades, and updated instructional technology. He also reminds the community to check their mailboxes for informational postcards, and to look for lawn signs appearing around the district—encouraging residents to learn more and make an informed decision.
