Brian Zhang, a 2025 Northville High School graduate, was one of just five students chosen to represent the U.S. at the 55th International Physics Olympiad in Paris, where he earned a Gold Medal. The competition brought together over 400 top high school physics students from more than 80 countries.

Northville voters approved the renewal of the district’s Sinking Fund millage in the August 5, 2025 special election, with approximately 71% voting YES across Wayne and Oakland counties. The renewal extends the .9357 mill levy through 2035, supporting infrastructure improvements and instructional technology while protecting the district’s General Fund.

Northville Public Schools was honored with the District Growth Award and Hillside Middle School received the Most Improved Player Award at the Special Olympics Michigan Unified Champion Schools Conference, recognizing our commitment to inclusive education. With representation from elementary, middle, and high school staff, Northville is taking intentional steps toward becoming a fully Unified District and invites others to join the movement.

The Community Financial Student-Run Credit Union gives Northville students a hands-on way to learn about saving and financial responsibility—right from their school. Kindergarten and 5th grade students with a Kids Savings Account can even receive a $20 bonus to kick-start their savings journey.

This summer, Northville Public Schools’ Kids Club students raised nearly $3,000 for Campus K9s, a nonprofit that trains Social Emotional Learning (SEL) dogs for schools. Through fun competitions like Penny Wars, students combined compassion and teamwork to support a cause that brings comfort and connection to classrooms across Michigan.

The Northville High School Girls Cross Country Team is hosting its annual Mini-Mustangs Splash-Spin-Gallop Youth Camp from August 4–7, open to boys and girls in grades 3–8. Campers will learn running, biking, and swimming skills in a fun and supportive environment, ending with a mini-triathlon and celebration.

Absentee voting is now open for the August 5, 2025 election, when Northville voters will consider a Sinking Fund Renewal proposal with no increase to the current tax rate. Cooke School celebrated seven graduates this week, marking an incredible milestone filled with pride, joy, and inspiration. Families, staff, and friends gathered to honor the Class of 2025 and their remarkable journeys.

The Northville Girls Tennis team captured the State Championship on May 30-31 at Byron Center, earning their first state title since 2018. Entering the tournament as underdogs, the Mustangs showcased incredible grit, resilience, and teamwork to edge out Utica Eisenhower and claim the top spot.

Northville Public Schools has appointed Ms. Emily Pohlonski as the new Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, bringing her extensive background in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and educator growth. A Northville native, Ms. Pohlonski is excited to return to her hometown and contribute to the district's continued academic excellence and innovation.

On August 5, 2025, Northville voters will consider a proposal to renew the district’s current 0.9357 mill Sinking Fund for ten years with no increase to the tax rate. The renewal would continue to fund repairs, safety upgrades, and instructional technology across all school buildings.

Northville Rowing had a historic 2025 season, with the men’s team winning the State Championship and a National Title in the Men’s Varsity 4+, while the women’s team earned State Runner-Up and claimed their third straight Varsity 4x title. With strong community support and a growing program based at Kensington Metropark, Northville continues to build a lasting legacy in the sport.

Northville families may be eligible to receive $120 per school-aged child through Michigan’s Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) program to help buy groceries during the summer. Some families will receive benefits automatically, while others may need to apply based on income or eligibility status.
