This summer, Northville Public Schools’ Kids Club students turned friendly competition into heartfelt impact by raising money for a meaningful cause: Campus K9s, a nonprofit organization that trains and places Social Emotional Learning (SEL) dogs in schools across Michigan.

Inspired by a staff professional development day visit from Campus K9s—complete with puppies!—Kids Club launched three fundraising challenges throughout the summer. One of the most spirited was Penny Wars, where students donated coins and bills to earn points for their classrooms. Silver coins? Those were sabotage points for rival teams!

The results were incredible. Penny Wars alone raised $1,781.08, and by the end of the summer, students raised a total of $2,918.91 and 30 FreezBones (frozen dog treats) to support Campus K9s' mission. The three classrooms that won the individual challenges were rewarded with something extra special—a puppy party, filled with cuddles, laughter, and wagging tails.

To wrap up the summer, the students came together for a joyful assembly to present their donation to Campus K9s, proud of the difference they made and excited to continue supporting the well-being of students and staff—one paw at a time.
