3:56 Two NPS Teams Selected As Top Finalists in World Competition Featured
Two teams from Northville Public Schools are finalists in the international Airport Design Challenge, sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. Team Aireos is made up of 5 NHS students and Team Aero is made up of 5 NPS elementary students.

The goal for the project is to create a virtual airport using Minecraft. Team Aireos got a behind the scenes tour of DTW Airport to help with their research for this year's competition. The team took notes so they could create a 1:1 scaling of the airport, and then added some of their own innovations.
"We had the sandipods which was another project, it was another STEM project where we had to create an innovation just solely to help a modern problem. We chose to do the sandipods, which stands for Sanitization Pod, meaning that we could put this at a major area and have people walk through it, get sanitized, tested for covid," said Chet Sands, member of Team Aireos.
And one of the team member's little brothers was so inspired, he started his own team; Team Aero.
"It was all a team effort, honestly, I'm really proud of my team and what we've done, all the support and guidance we've had along the way, it was absolutely key to making this happen," said Arjun Saini, student leader of Team Aireos.
On February 17, 2022, Team Aireos received 1st place in the world for their age group and Team Aero received 3rd place for their age group. -

3:20 Northville Public Schools Highlights Hardworking Food Service Staff Featured
Northville Public Schools has an incredibly dedicated food service staff and they have been put through the ringer this year.
Uploaded Feb 22, 2022
"I've worked over 20 years in food service and the last two and a half years have been like nothing else I've ever experienced. Food service is always challenging, it's always fast paced, it's always a little bit of where you have to think on your feet. The last two and a half years have been five times that, ten times that. Covid just kind of put a wrench in everything, multiple times, sometimes the day before. It's been crazy," explained Carrie Morfino, food service manager, NPS.
Lunches are free for students this year, it's a blessing and a curse because the already understaffed lunch ladies are serving triple the number of kids they're use to and the food supply chain is lacking.
Right now, NPS food service is trying to fill more than 15 part-time and full-time positions around the district. To apply, visit www.northvilleschools.org, and then click on the Employment button, then Current Job Openings. A big thank you goes out to our food service staff for providing nutritious meals made with love each and every day. -
