While it is generally not our practice to project a school closure of more than one day in advance, in consideration of the consistent forecast of sub-zero temperatures and the Governor’s declared State of Emergency through Thursday, we are providing advance notice so that families can plan accordingly.
A number of after school and evening events planned for Tuesday, January 29, 2019 have been cancelled or rescheduled, as communicated by individual schools and/or event sponsors, as have those events that are proceeding as scheduled. Tonight’s Special Call Board of Education meeting at 6:00 p.m., and Committee of the Whole meeting at 6:30 p.m. are continuing as scheduled, at Old Village School, 405 W. Main Street.
All activities and events on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 are cancelled. With the lifting of the Wind Chill Warning anticipated by approximately 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019, we anticipate that select events/activities may proceed on Thursday evening. We will continue to monitor weather conditions over the course of the next several days, and communicate decisions about Thursday afternoon/evening activities as soon as possible.
