Bus routes for the 2017-18 school year are now available on the district website at Bus Routes.
Construction Notice – Beck Road near 9 Mile Road
Northville Public Schools has been advised by the Oakland County Road Commission that the construction project on Beck Road near 9 Mile Road will continue until mid-September. Accordingly, we may experience some bus delays from the published schedules for the first few weeks of the new school year, until the construction project is completed. We encourage parents to use the Bus Tracker tool (see below) during this time, and throughout the school year, to view their child’s bus in relation their assigned bus stop.
Durham Bus Tracker
Now in its third year, the Durham Bus Tracker mobile app provides Northville Public Schools parents and guardians with a sense of comfort and convenience. The secure system allows families to view the location of their child’s bus in real-time using a cell phone or other mobile device, including the bus’s current location and what time it will be arriving at your child’s bus stop. If a bus is running late for any reason (traffic, weather, mechanical issue, etc.), this tool enables parents to re-adjust expectations as to when their children will arrive at their designated bus stop. Use of the app is completely voluntary and made available at no cost to participating families or the district. For information on how to download the secure app, and access your student’s bus information, visit Bus Tracker on the district website.
Parent Concern Form
The Transportation Department call volume is generally higher in the first few weeks of a new school year as students, families and bus drivers adjust to route changes, traffic volumes, and any road construction. The Transportation Department asks that parents and guardians with questions or concerns about the district’s Transportation services use the Parent Question & Concern Form available on the Transportation Bus Route page on the district website. Parents are also encouraged to review the General Information & Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) on the website, as the document has readily available information that may answers to your questions.
The ultimate responsibility of the Transportation Department is to ensure the safe transport of your children between school and home on a timely basis. This process begins with ensuring that students are at their assigned bus stop at least five minutes prior to the established departure time. The district and Durham School Services take the responsibility of on-time, safe student transportation very seriously. In meeting this responsibility, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility when routing adjustments are needed.
