Dear Parents and Guardians,
Northville Public Schools, and each of its schools, are engaged in an ongoing continuous improvement process, in which all of our stakeholders (students, parents and staff) play an important role. As part of this improvement process, we ask our parents, as well as students and staff, to participate in an annual AdvancED Stakeholder Survey, with the goal of engaging our school community in two-way communications. The results help district and school leaders gain a deeper understanding of our district’s areas of strength and effectiveness, along with opportunities for improvement.
Northville Public Schools is accredited district-wide by AdvancED, the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan accreditation agency in the world, accrediting more than 34,000 schools, representing more than 20 million students worldwide. The organization endorses school districts using a framework founded on five research-based standards encompassing quality, governance, best-practice instruction, student achievement, and access to instructional resources. The Northville school district was first accredited in 2010, after hosting a rigorous external review by a Quality Assurance Review Team from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. District-wide accreditation was reaffirmed in 2015, following a similar external Quality Assurance Review by AdvancED.
For more information about the survey, see the Answers to Frequently Asked Questions included with this letter. The survey will remain open until Monday, March 6, 2017. All responses are anonymous. If you have children who attend more than one school, please complete a separate survey for each school. Also, please note that the survey is developed by AdvancED and is centered on the research-based AdvancED Standards for Quality School Systems, and therefore, the district is not able to add questions or edit any of the survey content.
Students and staff from across the district will have an opportunity to complete similar surveys over the next several weeks. AdvancED has separate student surveys for students in kindergarten through second grade; third through fifth grade; and sixth through 12th grade.
Your support in completing the AdvancED Parent Survey is greatly appreciated. We look forward to your feedback, and as always we thank you for your ongoing support of Northville Public Schools.
