Northville Welcomes Amani Badillo as Principal of Silver Springs Elementary

Northville Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Amani Badillo as the new principal of Silver Springs Elementary School. Mrs. Badillo brings more than two decades of teaching and leadership experience to Northville, along with a deep commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Mrs. Badillo most recently served as a District Literacy Specialist in South Lyon Community Schools. She also led the district’s Elementary Summer Jump Start Program as principal, successfully developing curriculum, overseeing operations, and supporting striving students across the district.

Known for her strong interpersonal and communication skills, Mrs. Badillo has been praised by colleagues and educational leaders for her expertise, collaborative approach, and passion for supporting both students and staff. She has presented on literacy practices throughout her district, worked alongside statewide literacy leaders, and brought innovative coaching strategies to enhance teacher capacity. Her leadership has been recognized by peers and administrators alike for combining research-supported practices with a compassionate, student-first mindset.

Mrs. Badillo holds an Ed.S. in Leadership from Wayne State University, as well as a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English and French. Her specialized training includes Reading Recovery, Orton Gillingham, LETRS, MTSS, PBIS, Restorative Practices, and extensive professional development in literacy coaching and curriculum alignment.

Mrs. Badillo expressed her enthusiasm for her new position, stating,  “I am truly honored to join Silver Springs Elementary and the Northville Public Schools family. It is evident that Silver Springs has a strong sense of community, encourages student voice, and is deeply committed to excellence - all of which align with my core values as an educational leader. I’m excited to soar as an Eagle, and look forward to partnering with staff and families to support its ongoing success.”

Superintendent Webber stated,  “We are pleased to welcome a highly accomplished leader whose experience, passion, and vision will significantly contribute to Silver Springs. Mrs. Badillo’s ability to inspire teachers, support students, and engage families makes her an ideal fit for the Northville community.”

Northville Public Schools also extends its heartfelt gratitude to retired interim principal Denise Bryan, who stepped in to lead Silver Springs during this time of transition. Her steady leadership and genuine care for the students, staff, and families ensured the school remained supported.

“Denise Bryan has been a gift to Silver Springs,” Dr. Webber added. “We sincerely appreciate the valuable leadership and expertise she contributed to the community during her time as interim principal.”

With Mrs. Badillo’s appointment, Silver Springs Elementary enters an exciting new chapter—one that blends tradition with innovation, rooted in a shared vision of student success and community collaboration.
