Northville Students’ Academic Growth Is Rising

Northville Public Schools continue to shine academically as newly released M-STEP and PSAT data places the district in the second-highest ranking statewide for all subjects. The 2023-2024 results underscore the district’s strong commitment to educational excellence, demonstrating impressive proficiency across core content areas.

The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-Step) and Preliminary SAT (PSAT) are standardized assessments used to gauge student achievement and college readiness, respectively. Northville students excelled in both areas, achieving results well above state averages and earning recognition as a top-performing district in Michigan. To learn more about the M-STEP, visit the M-STEP website.

Dr. RJ Webber, Superintendent of Northville Public Schools, expressed pride in the achievement, attributing the district’s success to a combination of hard work by students, dedication from teachers, invested families, and the district's forward-thinking approach to education.

"Our educators and students have consistently demonstrated resilience and excellence," said Aaron Baughman, Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services. "These results are a testament to the dynamic learning environments we’ve fostered, which challenge students to think critically and embrace new technologies like AI to enhance their learning."  In addition, new curricular resources for Math, Science, Social Studies and ELA have been adopted over the last five years to ensure that our teachers and students receive the best materials for learning.  We have also provided Math and ELA Instructional Coaching for our teachers so that they can sharpen their craft and grow their skills.

District officials plan to continue their emphasis on rigorous academic standards while also ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of the future. "We are proud, but we’re not done," Dr. Webber added. "We’ll keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible for our students, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-changing world."

As Northville celebrates this academic milestone, the district’s community can take pride in being at the forefront of educational success in Michigan.
