NPS Board of Education Move Three Board Candidates Forward to Final Interviews

5/18/22 – On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the NPS Board of Education interviewed candidates for the open seat recently vacated by Board Trustee Suzanne Lynn. The district received a total of eight applicants and as the May 17th interview date approached, four applicants respectfully withdrew their interest prior to the interview.  The four remaining candidates interviewed on May 17th were Dr. Kimberly Campbell-Voytal, Dr. Tejpreet Kaur Nakai, Ash Nehete, and Tammy Raffle.

“I think I can speak for all of us when I say what pleasure it is to have such accomplished people, such thoughtful people interested in serving on our Board of Education. It’s clear that you all spent time thinking about this. You all would be fantastic colleagues.” stated NPS Board president, Sarah Prescott.

After careful deliberation, the Board of Education selected Dr. Campell-Voytal, Dr. Nakai, and Ms. Raffle to move to the second and final round of interviews.  The Board of Education will interview these three finalists at the next Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, May 24, at 5:30 pm at Cooke School.

Following the final round of interviews on May 24th, the Board of Education anticipates making a final selection of the candidate to be appointed to the vacant seat, beginning Tuesday, May 31, 2022 and running through December 31, 2022.  The appointee, or any of the applicants, may choose to run for election to the open four-year term, beginning January 2023, in the next regular school board election on November 8, 2022.
