Dear Northville Public Schools Families, Staff and Community Members,
It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of anther school year. Attached please find the latest edition of A Message from the Superintendent, a communication with news about important issues impacting Northville Public Schools, as well as items celebrating some of the incredible work of our students, teachers and staff every day. I hope you will take a few moments to click around to the topics of interest to you at the bottom of this message.
We continue to reflect on all that we at Northville Public Schools have to be grateful for, including our innovative and compassionate teachers and staff who seek to open a world of possibilities for our students; our incredible school families and community members who value the education of our young people in both their words and their actions; and, most importantly, our more than 7,400 students who come to school ready to learn and be an active part of our learning community. Their voices are an integral part of the learning process, and to our ongoing growth and success as a community.
As I’ve said before, we are called to reflect on, and improve our practice of educating children, to give one another feedback, to work collaboratively and to deepen our efforts to unleash each and every child’s potential. We continually seek to apply best practice instruction and to empower students to be active participants in their learning. There is no greater work than impacting the lives of our students in powerful and meaningful ways, and we are committed to creating the best possible learning environment in our classrooms, in our schools, and in all that we do as we seek to advance our Tradition of Excellence and truly open A World of Opportunities for and with each of our students.
We are grateful for our partnership with parents, families and the Northville community in this effort. For those families enrolled in our summer programs – whether through our Summer Connections program, the Cooke Summer Program, or Summer Kids’ Club – we look forward to seeing your children engaged in meaningful learning over the course of the summer. We wish each of our students, families and staff the gift of time spent with family and friends, and for all who have suffered hardship or loss, the gift of love, support and healing.
Mary Kay Gallagher
