Thornton Creek Collects Record Number of Socks for Civic Concern

Each year, Thornton Creek Elementary comes together for a service learning project called Socktober. This year, they not only reached their ambitious target, but they surpassed it with an astounding 4,315 pairs of socks.

hi Norvell Civic Center and we are so excited that we raised is 4300 in in 15 facts are I might be a little bit about what's going to happen to the stock okay. The Sox went up to Oakmont if anybody know what it is nobody know teachers you do if our senior dwelling for people that's on 7 Mile they've got probably 500 resident so Aunt Mary where she's supposed to Maddie okay Nina words and Eddie's she's a 401 and 3/4 lb 102 she's the chairperson to put all the Sox White Sox together and they tie ribbons on them and they put the size and Carmen all the mens the women the whatever so not only did you do something as youngsters but what does that do for them can you tell them who are the it doesn't do for the older it connects them to everything they were doing like a full circle make a call okay so give them purpose we really proud because we know that all the socks we donated are going to a good purpose and helping people to don't have homes and don't have much money so it felt really good to make a difference in Ark

Each year, many of our elementary schools participate in a service learning project called Socktober. This project is usually led by the school's Leader in Me Student Lighthouse Team.

This year, Thornton Creek Elementary's goal was to collect 2,000 pairs of socks to support those in need within our local community. Not only did Thornton Creek reach this ambitious target, but they surpassed it with an astounding 4,315 pairs of socks!

The socks will be donated to Northville Civic Concern, ensuring that they reach families in need right here in our own community. This contribution will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing challenges, especially as we approach the colder months.
