Welcome to Northville's Early Childhood Education & Extended Day Programs
We realize that finding a high-quality early childhood program for your child can feel overwhelming. We hope that after learning more about our program, you find we are a great fit for your family! In addition to having highly qualified and dedicated staff, these are a few additional things that set us apart:
- Curriculum- We implement HighScope, a research-based curriculum that emphasizes active participation to promote children's development and learning.
- Social-Emotional Learning- We use a holistic approach to social-emotional learning through Second Step, an evidence-based curriculum that fosters student's emotional intelligence, empathy and problem solving skills. Our behavior support team collaborates regularly to support children's social-emotional development in all preschool classrooms.
- Staff Development- We have an Early Childhood Specialist who coaches teachers with curriculum implementation as well as provides in-depth professional learning opportunities.
- Connection to NPS- We work in collaboration with the district toward continuous improvement in supporting children's future academic success.
- Studio Space- The Studio is a creative and inviting environment where small groups of children have the opportunity to explore and express ideas through various artistic media.
Preschool Programs
3-5 years old
Preschool classes offer creative, developmentally appropriate activities designed to meet the physical, cognitive and social-emotional needs of each child. Daily schedule includes free choice time, large and small group gatherings and outdoor play. Children must be toilet trained and self sufficient by the date of admission. Location of classes offered are contingent upon sufficient enrollment and space.
Parent-Child at Old Village School
2 & 3 years old
This preschool program offers a unique setting where parents and children explore and interact together through creative, developmentally appropriate activities that support physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth.
Elementary Programs - Kids' Club
Young 5's through 5th Grade
Kids' Club is a before and after school care program for Young 5's through 5th grade children. It provides a relaxed environment for children to pursue individual interests and/or participate in group activities. Space permitting, Kids' Club is offered on-site at each of the elementary schools. There is a minimum enrollment of two days per week. A snack is provided in the afternoon. A full-day program is also available during the summer.
