Community Facility Use
Northville Public Schools facilities are made available to responsible local groups and organizations in accordance with Board of Education Policy No. 3304. Use of buildings, facilities and property shall be consistent with the District's mission, educational programs and extra-curricular purposes.

Group Classifications and Rental Fees
Local groups and organizations must meet the criteria based on the classifications in order to rent facilities from Northville Public Schools.
Student Groups
One or more students participating in District-sponsored curricular or extracurricular activities supervised by District personnel.
- Athletics
- School-approved student clubs
- School PTAs
- PTA-sponsored 3rd party organizations that provide after-school enrichment experiences for students. (Requests for this group are managed by the sponsoring PTA - 3rd party organization must provide proof of liability insurance)
Fees
Student groups may use school facilities on no-charge basis if they agree to meet in the most cost-efficient space available and if they agree to meet during regular custodial working hours, Monday through Friday.
If the activity is scheduled on a weekend, a vacation period or at a time during which no regularly scheduled custodians, the student group will be assessed any incremental custodial and maintenance costs.
Non-Curricular Education Groups
Comprised of a substantial number of district students, organized for the general benefit of students:
- Girls Scouts - organized into school building clusters
- Scouting America - organized by troop
- Dad's Club
- District Booster groups
Proof of liability insurance naming Northville Public Schools as additional insured is required to be on file for all scouting groups.
Fees
Non-curricular Education groups may use school facilities on a no-charge basis if their meetings are scheduled Monday through Friday and if they are concluded by 9:00pm. Groups requesting the use of school facilities after these days and times will be assessed any incremental custodial and maintenance costs.
Non-Student Groups
All Non-Student groups must demonstrate that at least 51% of their event participants are Northville Public School district residents.
Non-Student groups include both organizations with 501c designations* not described in the student groups or non-curricular education groups.
- Facilities will not be rented for craft, electronics, animal, hobby or for private parties such as wedding, anniversaries, private dance recitals or memorials.
- Commercial use of district property is prohibited. A booster club or other organization raising money purely for the support of a student group and not for personal profit is not considered a commercial purpose.
- Groups must have proof of liability insurance on file naming Northville Public Schools as additional insured.
*501c designation verification is required through the IRS as a separate, legal 501c entity.
Fees
Standard Fees
Non-Student groups without a 501c designation are expected to pay the full rental fee.
All groups in this category are expected to pay fees to cover personnel costs for persons such as food service staff, custodians, lifeguards, athletic field supervisor, special equipment operators, technicians, student technicians and utility fees.
501c Fees
Verified 501c groups in this category are charged at 50% of the standard group rental rate. Discount applies to rental fee only.
501c organizations are expected to pay incremental fees to cover personnel costs for persons such as food service staff, custodians, lifeguards, athletic field supervisor, special equipment operators, technicians, student technicians and utility fees.

How to Apply
All interested groups that meet the above criteria should email Judy Huggins, Technology and Facilities Services Coordinator. Please provide the name of your group name and the purpose of your request to rent space. Please be prepared to provide the following documentation prior to approval:
- Proof of Residency - Provide a copy of your participant roster to verify at least 51% of the are Northville Public School district residents. This will be required on an annual basis.
Approved Groups
Upon approval, you will be provided a link to Facilities Schedules, our online portal. You may have more than one representative with a Facilities Schedules portal account. Representatives will receive emails and invoices related to facility rentals for your organization as well as agree to the Terms and Conditions for use. All requests for space should be completed online through Facilities Schedules and require a minimum 7 days notice.
- Provide Proof of Liability Insurance - District-sponsored student groups are insured under the District's property and casualty policy. All other groups are required to secure $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy naming Northville Public Schools as additional insured. Proof of insurance is required prior to the scheduled activity.
