Northville Schools Launches ‘Building Tomorrow Together’ to Shape District Future

Northville Schools Launches ‘Building Tomorrow Together’ to Shape District Future

Northville Public Schools (NPS) has officially launched a comprehensive strategic planning initiative, "Building Tomorrow Together," inviting students, parents, and community members to help design the next era of local education.

In partnership with the Michigan Association of School Boards, the district is seeking to align its mission and values with the evolving expectations of the community. The process, which began in late 2025, aims to produce a finalized roadmap by June 2026.

"Northville has a proud tradition of excellence built through generations of partnership," said Carin Meyer, Board of Education President. "We invite you to be part of this process because the success of our district is tied to the success of our community."

A Broader Vision

While the district regularly updates its educational goals through the state-mandated Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (MICIP), this new Strategic Plan is a broader, locally directed effort. While MICIP focuses on specific classroom outcomes like critical thinking, the Strategic Plan will encompass everything from district operations and communications to long-term academic vision.

How to Get Involved

The district is offering three distinct ways for the public to share their voice. Officials note that the same questions will be asked in each format, so residents only need to participate in one session.

1. In-Person Focus Groups

  • Feb. 24 (5:00–6:00 PM): Northville High School
  • March 2 (6:00–7:00 PM): Hillside Middle School
  • March 12 (6:30–7:30 PM): Old Village School

2. Virtual Focus Group A digital session will be held via Zoom on March 19 from 7:00–8:00 PM (Meeting ID: 828 8061 0242).

3. Online Survey For those unable to attend a live session, an online survey is available on the district website now through March 19, 2026.

The Road Ahead

Following the data collection phase ending in April, the district will spend the spring developing key priorities. The final Strategic Plan is expected to be communicated to the public in early summer, setting the stage for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.
