Northville High School Celebrates Class of 2026 with Traditional Senior Clap-Out and Paper Toss

Excited high school senior boys cheer and run out of the school's front entrance past a crowd of parents filming on their smartphones.

The hallways of Northville High School were filled with roaring cheers, flying paper, and plenty of bittersweet nostalgia today as the Class of 2026 officially celebrated their final day of high school.

The day concluded with two of NHS’s most anticipated annual traditions: the senior paper toss and the school-wide clap-out.

Gathered along the upper mezzanine level, graduating seniors participated in a thrilling final countdown before raining years of old notes, quizzes, and homework down into the central stairwell. The joyful paper avalanche marked a symbolic end to their high school academic journeys and the beginning of a well-deserved celebration.

Following the paper toss, the seniors made their final walk through the building for the traditional clap-out. Flanked by cheering teachers, staff, and underclassmen, the graduates poured out of the main entrance beneath the school clock tower.

Outside, they were greeted by a massive sea of proud parents, family members, and friends capturing the milestone on camera. Many seniors proudly sported apparel from their future destinations, including the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Schoolcraft College, and various athletic programs.

With twelve years of hard work officially in the books, the Northville community congratulates the Class of 2026 on their resilience, achievements, and leadership. We wish them the absolute best as they prepare for the upcoming graduation ceremony and take their next steps into the future.

Once a Mustang, always a Mustang!
