Northville Athletics Celebrates 5th Hall of Fame Class

A banquet table setting at the Northville High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The centerpiece features a black silhouette cutout of a galloping mustang, a small pot of pink roses, and a table number "11" stand. Lying on the white tablecloth is a program titled "5th Class Induction Ceremony," and a standing frame displays a Hall of Fame athlete profile featuring a football player.

The Northville High School athletic community is proud to announce its 5th Hall of Fame induction class, honoring a distinguished group of athletes, coaches, and teams who have defined what it means to be a Mustang. This year’s class spans over six decades of athletic history, ranging from foundational figures of the 1960s to modern-day champions and professional athletes.

Honoring a Lifetime of Service
Headlining the ceremony is Ron Angove, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. A 1972 graduate and former Varsity Club President, Angove dedicated 37 years to the Northville Public Schools athletic department. Known as the "cornerstone" of the district’s facilities, Angove’s tireless work behind the scenes—particularly in maintaining the home football field—ensured generations of Mustangs had a world-class stage upon which to compete.

Legends of the Sidelines and the Mats
The induction class also recognizes two legendary coaches and administrators who helped shape the culture of Northville sports:

  • Ron Horwath (1960–1986): A pillar of the football program and athletic administration for over a quarter-century.
  • David Longridge (1960–1997): A versatile leader who spent 37 years coaching wrestling, basketball, and football, leaving an indelible mark on hundreds of student-athletes.

Individual Excellence and Modern Stars
The 5th class features several standout individuals, including Jake Moody (Class of 2018), whose journey from the Mustang football field led him to the NFL, and Laura Westphal (Class of 2017), a dominant force in Girls Swimming.

Other individual inductees include:

  • Ali Arastu (2010): Track and Field
  • Rachel Coleman (2014): Girls Cross Country
  • Ryan Huzjak (1992): Football
  • Connor Johnston (2016): Boys Tennis
  • Kate MacDonald-Schultz (2002): Girls Golf

A Dynasty on the Green
In the team category, the 2018–2021 Girls Golf Teams are being inducted for their unprecedented run of success. Their four-year stretch of excellence solidified Northville as a powerhouse in Michigan high school golf.
