High School Football Players Bring Morning Smiles Across Northville Elementary Schools

Elementary students across Northville Public Schools got an energetic boost to their Thursday morning routine as members of the Northville High School varsity football and cheer teams made visits across the district to kick off Homecoming week.

Dressed in their orange and black “Mustangs” jerseys and cheer uniforms, student-athletes lined the entryways and sidewalks across the district—including Silver Springs, Ridge Wood, Amerman, Moraine, Thornton Creek, and Winchester—greeting students as they arrived for the day. Football players and cheerleaders offered high-fives, bright smiles, and words of encouragement as children stepped off school buses and out of drop-off lanes.

“Our players and program LOVE to get out in the local schools and community,” said Northville Varsity Head Football Coach Brent Luplow. “We wanted to split up our Varsity team in their jerseys and have them line the entryway to school during morning drop-off to give high fives to the students as they enter school and to make them excited for the day, homecoming week, and the game.”

The special morning welcome turned an ordinary arrival into a district-wide celebration. Younger students happily traded high-fives with the players, posed for photos with the cheerleaders at front doors, and even tossed a football with high schoolers before heading inside.

The visits offered NHS student-athletes a chance to lead by example and give back to the younger generation of Mustangs across every neighborhood in Northville.

The morning welcome highlights Northville Public Schools' tradition of connecting students across all grade levels, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and excited to be a Mustang.
