April 2005
Letter from the
Superintendent -- April 25, 2005
Includes a summary, to date, of the Board of Education decisions regarding recommendations from the Short Term Options Committee.
February 2005
Northville Community,
The Short Term Options Committee has been deliberating for the past six weeks to arrive at recommendation or recommendations to resolve the overcrowding at the elementary school level, specifically at Ridge Wood and Amerman.
(See Meeting Agendas in the right-hand menu.)
The Committee has brainstormed options (See options list. They are not in priority order) for discussion. Some of the options appear to be extreme and some appear to be easy to implement. In reality, this issue is very complex as it will affect a segment or segments of the community.
At this time, the options are still being discussed and pros and cons being developed.
There has been and will be increased interest in the Committees’ deliberations as the Committee reaches closure on this issue.
Please watch the District’s website at www.northville.k12.mi.us for weekly updates and notifications.
After the Committee has reported their findings to the Board of Education, the Board will establish at two “Town Hall Meetings” to provide the opportunity for discussion with an input from the community.
The "Town Hall Meetings" will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at Meads Mill Middle School and Thursday April 7, 2005 at Hillside Middle School. Both meetings begin at 7:00
pm.
Sincerely,
Short Term Options Committee
